What is circle dancing? Well, as the name implies, it is dancing in a circle with almost any number of others who enjoy moving in rhythmic time to music. It draws on the rich and diverse traditional dances of many countries including Israel, Greece, the Balkans, Russia, France, Africa and America, There is also a growing number of new dances to classical music and contemporary songs.
The dances can be lively and quite energetic or gentle and meditative. The steps are simple and suitable for any age or ability. You don’t need a partner or any special shoes in order to join in!
The aim is to experience the joy of dancing with others and to create a sense of well-being and community.
