Welcome to Settle District U3A.

How to Join

Membership runs for a year from 1st July to 30th June.  

For 2019/20 the individual membership fee is £15 and the joint membership fee for spouse/partner living at the same address is £29; both amounts can be supplemented by a small donation of perhaps £5 per person.

Members of other U3As (other than those in the WestNet network – Bradford, Craven, Ilkley and Keighley U3As) can become an associate member for £11.50.

WestNet members do not need to pay a membership fee but may wish to make a donation.

If you join in April, May or June of the current year and pay £18, (or £35 for joint membership) your membership will be valid until 30th June of the following year; a donation as above would be gratefully received.

We have two ways of joining and paying,

  1. By cash or cheque; please print off and complete the Enrolment Form and send it to the Membership Secretary or bring the completed form and your payment to the next Thursday meeting at Victoria Hall.

    2. By Bank Transfer;

If you are a tax payer, please consider completing a GIFT AID form and send it to the Membership Secretary. Forms are available online at Gift Aid

Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, Gift Aid can be claimed for this membership fee and any membership fees that you pay in the future to Settle District U3A. You must understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in the current tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference to HMRC.

If you are able and wish to help us claim Gift Aid for your membership fee, please tick the box on the on-line form and please complete the Gift Aid Declaration on the Enrolment Form and send it to the Membership Secretary.

How to Renew your Membership of Settle District U3A

If you need to revise your Gift Aid instructions because of a change in circumstances please let the Membership Secretary know.

Also email the Membership Secretary at Settle District U3A  to show you have renewed your membership, giving the date of payment.

Please note that we have suspended the online payment method via PayPal because of the cost and inflexibility of the PayPal/U3A Beacon software system. The software is being revised and we will consider reinstating online payment when the committee is satisfied it will meet our requirements.
